Le Poete Lutumba Simarro celebrated his 71st birthday recently. Last year he threw a big party for his 70th birthday in Kinshasa. Alain Mpela takes Djo Mpoyi's place and sings Lutumba's hit KADIMA. He really does the song justice.

i love when i find these old gems and am very excited to have found this blog. Am a congolese music fanatic of sorts. I especially like the old stuff - franco, sam mwangana, pepe kalle etc. But the new folks like Ferre, Werrason, Fally are pretty good too.
