TRAGEDY STRIKES IN HAITI

By now we all have heard of the 7.2 earthquake that struck Port-au-Prince Tuesday morning. This is an event that has truly touched the whole Haitian community. The deathtoll lurking in the hundreds of thousands people from Miami to Brooklyn to Canada and even here where I live in Spring Valley have all been touched in one way or another by this chain of events. Haiti has suffered for a long time but this is simply a catastrophe of which Haiti has never seen before. We send our prayers out to all who are looking for family and all who are in Haiti right now. Haiti was the first country to free themselves from modern slavery we can not forget her! We can not continue to ignore her. Be careful of which charities you give to. Give whatever you can from clothing to canned goods and money. Anything you can do to help will go a long way.

You can find some charities to donate to here:
HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF

You can text Wyclef Jean's organization "Yele" to 501501 to donate $5 or go to www.YELE.org (Some cell providers won't allow the text so you will have to go to the site)

****AMERICAN AIRLINES HAS DECIDED THAT THEY ARE TAKING NURSES AND DOCTORS OVER TO HAITI FOR FREE. CALL 212 697 9767****

This is a song I did with my brother and a friend of mine (Greg Serenade) a few years ago. An ode to Haiti from the point of view of the diaspora. I personally have never been to Haiti but i don't feel any less Haitian than any other Haitian because the culture was instilled and I wanted to reflect that with this song. The song was produced by my brother Razah (Guy Raoul Jr. ).

Long live the Haitian community. Love, Power, Peace and Strength
